Tucked between the trees Kigongoni is built in traditional African style. The rooms, cocktail lounge, and restaurant, all with fireplaces, are furnished in an intimate and comfortable manner, maximizing the site’s unique views and natural features.
Kigongoni Lodge has been developed in harmony with, and respect for, local community values, heritage and aspirations. The Sibusiso Foundation, a center for improving the quality of life for mentally disabled children and their families, has its home adjacent to the lodge and directly benefits from its revenues.

Kigongoni Lodge has 14 large cottages built in African styles and materials. All cottages have a big private veranda with views of either Mount Meru or Mount Kilimanjaro. Each has a large bathroom area with a separate shower and bathtub, writing and sitting area and a fireplace.Double or single four-poster beds all have mosquito nets.Certain rooms have internet access and all rooms have a telephone. Room service is available.
Kigongoni has both indoor and outdoor dining facilities. The cuisine is European style with distinct African elements. Organically grown vegetables from Kigongonis own garden are used whenever possible.
Breakfast is served with fresh fruits and juice, cheeses, marmalade, homemade breads and local eggs. Dinner comprises a minimum of three courses with complimentary tea or local coffee served at the bar. The lounge and bar will stay open till all guests retire to bed.
