Ol Gaboli Lodge

Where to stay

Ol Gaboli Lodge

Ol Gaboli Community Lodge is a unique, medium-sized facility that can accommodate up to 35 people at a time. The lodge has seven cabins – or bandas – nestled amongst the serene and picturesque slopes of the Laikipia Plateau. The bandas are built from local stone with traditional thatched roofs. Each banda can accommodate 2 to 8 people depending on sleeping arrangements. Hot water for the en-suite showers and light are powered by solar energy.

Ol Gaboli also has a self-contained house with 2 large rooms each with a loft. The house can accommodate 2 families comfortably or large groups up to 30 people, and can be booked together with the rest of the lodge or as a separate unit. Accommodation is on a self-catering basis only; however, catering services can be provided with prior arrangements.

Overlooking the Ewaso Nyiro River, the verandah is the perfect spot to watch the sunset. There is an expansive, open floor lounge and dining room looking out onto the grassy riverbank and the towering Fig Tree which make the lodge a “Heaven in the Shade of an Enormous Fig Tree”. The spacious dining room can be used as a conference hall for groups who wish to hold a workshop or seminar in a remote setting. The lodge is ideal for team-building and bonding activities. There is also a comprehensive library with nature, wildlife, geography and history books, and a shop selling cultural items.
