The Masai Mara is a large park reserve in south-western Kenya. Named for the Maasai people and the Mara River, which divides it, it is famous for its exceptional population of game and the annual migration of zebra and the wildebeest from the Serengeti every year from July to October, a migration so immense it is called the Great Migration. Its twenty or more lion pride are an attraction.
Location
Sentrim Mara is located in Masai Mara Game reserve, 3 km after Sekenani gate. The entire 10 tents are spread out in serene surroundings amongst acacia trees that surround the camp. The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar.
Access
Masai Mara is 260 km from Nairobi and takes 5 ½ hours drive by road and 40 minutes by air. Transfer from the airstrip to the camp takes 20 minutes.
Climate
Mainly humid, with temperatures averaging 26°C during the day and 12°C at night. Long rains are anticipated from mid-April to May and the short rains from November to early December.
